The kitchen is the heart of your home, but it can also be surprisingly dangerous. Your kitchen is equipped with sharp knives, exposed surfaces and sensitive appliances.
Clean up as you go
When you’re mixing a number of ingredients and trying to put together the best meal for your family it’s easy to spill a thing or two. When you do it’s critical that you clean it up quickly to prevent an accident. Even a small amount of water or food creates a slipping hazard.
Don’t overload electrical outlets
Remember there shouldn’t be two operating appliances plugged in to the same circuit. Heat generating appliances such as toasters and electric frying pans use a lot of current. If you overload the circuit, it will get hot and possibly short out or catch fire.
